Writing and Reading Opinions on Kalivar Just Got Easier
Kalivar
10/8/2026

An opinion on Kalivar is a short, focused piece of work: two scores and a summary that helps an attorney decide whether a case has merit. Our latest update makes that work easier to do for experts, and more useful to read for attorneys.
For experts
A brief beside the editor. While you write, a short brief shows what you earn if your opinion is rewarded, how many opinions the case still needs, how much time is left, and what the task is: two scores and a short summary, about 20–30 minutes. You no longer need to go back to the case page to check.
Two fields are now optional, and one click can fill them. "About your expertise" and "Similar cases in your practice" are no longer required. They still add to your opinion's quality score, and the card tells you so. While a field is empty, a button fills it from your last opinion, from your profile, or from your answer on a recent case in the same specialty. You can edit the text before you submit.
Built for the phone, too. On a small screen, the brief and the quality grade fold into one line each. A "Peek at case" drawer opens the case details from the header, and "Continue opinion" brings you back to where you were.
Reminders that respect your time. Once you have submitted an opinion, you are no longer reminded about that case. If you started a draft, the reminder tells you to finish it. A last call now comes 12 hours before a case closes, if the case still needs opinions.
For attorneys
More context in every opinion. When the expert provides it, their answer to "Similar cases in their practice" now shows on the opinion card and in the printed and Word reports. It helps you see how often an expert meets cases like yours.
Opinions that are easier to finish. The changes above remove friction at the point where an expert writes. A clear brief, one-click prefill and a timely last call make it easier for an expert who started an opinion to complete and submit it before your case closes.
